Union J release cover of Shawn Mendes' "Mercy"

2016 was a relatively quiet year for Union J after George Shelley left the band in March to focus on presenting work. Former Stereo Kicks member Casey Johnson joined the band in May to replace George. The band have however started 2017 with a bang, releasing a cover of Shawn Mendes’ hugely successful single “Mercy”. After its release, in October, as a single from Shawn’s second album Illuminate; the song charted all over the world.

This is the first video the band have posted on their YouTube account since Casey joined the band. They spent time in America, last year, recording what will be their first studio album as a new four piece. We expect the new album to be released later this year.

The black and white video sees all four members take a turn at lead vocals, allowing them all to show off their vocal abilities, and have their own stand-out moment.

You can watch the video below:

The band are setting off on a UK tour in February, starting in Newcastle and finishing in London. You can get tickets here.
