Read The Athletic’s college football recruiting predictions for the 2024 class.
Jeremiah Lowe, a three-star cornerback from Lexington, Ky., announced his commitment to Michigan on Thursday. Here’s what you need to know:
- Lowe is ranked No. 1,089 in the 247Sports Composite for the Class of 2024 and is the No. 9 prospect in Kentucky.
- West Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri and Boston College were among Lowe’s other scholarship offers.
- Lowe is Michigan’s 28th commitment and the second cornerback in the 2024 recruiting class. Michigan’s class is No. 6 in the composite rankings.
How Lowe fits at Michigan
Lowe is a Steve Clinkscale recruit all the way. He’s from Kentucky, an area Clinkscale knows well, and is clearly rated higher on Michigan’s board than in the eyes of the recruiting services. His size (5-feet-11, 170 pounds) might explain the modest ranking, but even if he’s not the prototype for a Big Ten cornerback, his highlights show why the Wolverines made him a priority after cornerback targets Bryce West and Aaron Scott committed to Ohio State.

Lowe looks comfortable in zone and press-man coverage with good instincts and a nose for the ball. He has the versatility to line up inside or outside and could be a candidate to play nickel at Michigan. Once Scott and West committed to the Buckeyes, it was apparent that Michigan was looking at developmental prospects to fill its needs at cornerback, and Lowe is one of those players. The Wolverines trust their evaluations, and it will be up to Lowe to prove them right.
