Caleb Williams breaks down: Bursts into tears in mother's arms after tough loss to Washington

It is not just the NFL that is bringing the drama right now, as there were some incredibly emotional scenes in the NCAA featuring USC Trojans player Caleb Williams and his mother.

The start to the season has been far from ideal for the Trojans and they suffered another blow on Saturday as they were beaten 52-42 at home by the Washington Huskies.

Star quarterback Williams was not able to hide his emotions after what was an incredibly tough and hard-fought match.

He went straight to his mother in the stands when the clock ran to zeros and could be seen hugging her in tears.

It was not a game that Williams necessarily played poorly in, so it could be a case of him feeling he performed well but still couldn't make sure that his team won.

He finished with 312 passing yards and three touchdowns with zero turnovers on 27-for-35 completions. He also added a rushing touchdown.

The USC Trojans are suffering

The bad start to the season is certainly having an effect on the Trojans and their stock. They have lost three times in their last four games, having previously won six in a row to start the 2023 college football season.

They will be taking on the Oregon Ducks in Eugene in Week 11 before closing out their regular season campaign with a home game versus the UCLA Bruins.

"I want to go home and cuddle with my dog and watch some shows," Williams said after the game.

"Like, we lost the game. I work hard throughout months, years to have big games like this, try and go win and play your best, each and every one of us.

"We came out with a loss today, so emotionally I want to go home and I want to play with my dog."
