Famous music executive Alexander "AE" Edwards sent shockwaves across the internet after Cher confirmed their relationship on Twitter this month. Edwards previously dated model and socialite Amber Rose and the pair share a son. Their relationship publicly ended after Rose discovered his many infidelities.

Alexander AE Edwards, 36, has made a name for himself in his profession and love life. Earlier this month, he enjoyed dinner with his best friend, Tyga, and new beau, Cher, 76, at Craig's in West Hollywood. All three of them left for another location later at night, with the lovebirds walking hand-in-hand.

When the romance speculations spiraled on the internet following that sighting, Cher took to Twitter to confirm that she and Edwards were dating. Many fans expressed concern over Cher's new romance with a man 40 years her junior.

However, the singer seemed unbothered when she responded to a fan, saying, "love doesn't see math." Others insinuated that Edwards was using her to boost his own success, but Cher defended her lover, revealing that he'd met her entire family and saying he treated her like a queen.

Moreover, Cher assured her supporters that she wasn't "born yesterday" because regardless of whatever ulterior motives they thought Edwards had, there were "no guarantees." Still, she was confident in taking a chance with the music executive.

The worries expressed by the singer's supporters may not be unfounded, as Edwards was unfaithful to his past lover before and has even confessed to that. Still, apart from a colorful love life, he has a successful career in the music industry.

Alexander Edwards Is a Music Executive at Rihanna's Label

Edwards began working for Def Jam as the multinational record label's Vice President of artists and repertoire (A&R) in 2018. Def Jam is known for representing big names in the industry, including Rihanna, 2 Chainz, Nas, Justin Bieber, and more.

As the label's Vice President of A&R, one of Edwards' responsibilities includes scouting for new talent. His first project was called "Rap Camp," where he worked with over twenty "freshman" hip-hop artists. It resulted in a well-known compilation album titled "Undisputed."

Previously, Edwards worked at Tyga's label Last King Records. Tyga was photographed with Cher at the September Paris Fashion Week this year. According to People, that's where Edwards met the singer.

Alexander Edwards' Ex Accused Him of Cheating on Her with 12 Other Women

Edwards dated Amber Rose between 2018 and 2021, but the pair met in 2015. At the time, Rose was still married to Wiz Khalifa, with whom she shared her first son, Sebastian. The model made her romance with Edwards official on Instagram in September 2018.

They made several public appearances together afterward and often wrote heartfelt messages about each other on social media. In since-deleted Instagram posts, Rose reflected on her emotional state when Edwards came along, saying:

"He also came into my life at a time where I've had enough of the narcissistic, cheating and abuse I've endured over the years from my previous relationships."

The model had developed a "fear of loving someone" due to those tumultuous relationships, but her former beau was patient. Even after she pushed him away, Edwards had talked her "through everything," helping her believe she could love in "the most healthiest way again."

However, it all came crashing down after Rose accused Edwards of cheating in August 2021. In a few lengthy Instagram stories, Rose revealed that she'd found strings of text messages from twelve women, confirming that the music executive had sexual relations with them.

Rose also implied that there likely were more than twelve women involved with Edwards, but she didn't care anymore. She said she was "done" and that "they can have him." On a sadder note, Rose felt tired of being the only one who fought for her relationship and family.

After "suffering in silence" for a long time, she said she "couldn't take it anymore." Rose was tired of feeling emotionally and mentally abused. She reflected on the toll Edwards' actions had taken on her, saying:

"That’s why I’ve been so quiet. I’ve been a shell of who I used to be but I refuse to let anyone damage me anymore."

Edwards responded to the allegations during an Instagram live with DJ Big Von, admitting that he "got caught." It wasn't the first time Rose had discovered his unfaithfulness, and he knew she'd had enough. However, as much as he loved her and called her his "best friend," Edwards didn't want a purely monogamous relationship.

Edwards explained that he could stop cheating for at least six months. However, he felt he'd be denying his "true nature," and that's not how he wanted to live. He said he liked women, but his nature didn't align with how Rose "wanted to be loved."

Alexander Edwards Has a Son from His Previous Relationship

Although Edwards' relationship with the mother of Wiz Khalifa's 9-year-old son ended sourly, the pair may have to remain in each other's lives for the sake of their child. In April 2019, the former couple announced they were expecting a baby boy.

However, like with her firstborn, Rose suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum during her pregnancy. It was an extreme form of morning sickness which caused her to experience excessive dehydration and nausea.

In October of that year, she welcomed her second kid Slash Electric Alexander Edwards. Slash's first name was inspired by Rose's idol, Slash, the lead guitarist of Guns 'N' Roses. After he was born, his dad shared a sweet tribute to Rose, thanking her for bringing Slash into the world regardless of the toll she put her body through.
